Just as are the previous two books in this series, the novel is appropriate for either adults or adolescents. It is well-written and edited, and seeing "grown up" concepts presented through the voice and thought processes of a 12-year-old is effective in making adult readers re-examine ideas that they've long taken for granted. The mystery is well presented and intriguing, and the characters are simply fascinating in their flawed and wonderful humanity (the addition of the new character, Flip, was brilliant). Not caring for baseball or softball, I sort of "fast forwarded" through the scenes describing the competition, but that didn't detract at all from my enjoyment of the book. I hope there will be new additions to this excellent series.Product details

Excellent book
Awesome character development! Didn't want the story to end.Think this book is great for both kids and adults. Our 7 year old followed along, comprehended, and offered his viewpoint!
Worth reading. Interesting story - enough twists & turns to keep the reader interested and reading past bedtime! I hope the author writes more books in this series.
